Dear Diary,
We could not sleep in, as church started at 8:30. We watched TV last night ... AUS elections ... ABC with a 30 minute delay. Interesting to start with ... and now a hung parliament ... The only thing which really puzzled my was the seat of Beenalong. John Alexander ... won it.
Anyway, quick breakky and then off to church. We had a reserved area where we were ushered to. We received a hymnbook and a set of ear phones. The whole service was translates simultaneously!!! There were about 8 rows for foreigners and. All seats were taken when the service started. It was all a bit stiff, mainly elderly people. It was OK at first but then the aircon was blowing like crazy. It got so cold I was rubbing my hands to get warm. We stayed til the very end, but we were the first one's out - freezing like icicles. Found a spot were we had a cup of LIPTON Tea to thaw.
Later on we skyped with friends in Germany the went to VINACOM centre, the latest in shopping in Sai Gon. It is pathetic ... everything is there with fantasy price tags. But the centre is full - OK on a Sunday ... but a lot of people with lots of shopping bags. That means some people must make a lot of money. We decided not to have dinner here, even so the food court is OK with realistic prices.
