At first we have to add a funny story. Yesterday in the taxi, we went from the Blue Ginger restaurant to Hien’s office. Well, we can not recall how we came to talk about WD40. Somehow someone mentioned WD40. Hien was surprised we know WD40 as well. Matt said he always keeps it handy. Then Bob out of the blue mentioned he has got a bottle in the BEDROOM. Matt burst out laughing immediately and told Bob to spare us the DETAILS. That’s when the girls laughed their heads off!!!
Today, we went to the Hope school again to finalise our visit and go into the class-room and watch a little bit how those deaf children learn.
We also used this meeting to introduce Ha and her colleague Van from the Saigon Times Foundation. The Saigon Times Foundation will take over the project management for the Hope School and other project in our name while we are back in Australia.
All went well, was very interesting and we took photos and a video. Then we got a present from Thanh, the principal, a wonderful painting.
“How do we get it home ???” was Uli’s first question. We’ll mange. And as I write this blog, the painting is on it’s way … via Air Mail!!!
Went to Hien’s pre-school near by and stayed there for a short meeting, then lunch.
PO was on the list this afternoon. Peace Orphanage, we had promised Dr. Nhi to pay for Minh An’s keyboard and general music tuition. Every Wednesday and Friday two hours for five month. We went and watched them and had a chat with the tutor – via translator. When we entered the room Linh was there as well. We did not know, bur when Nhi came she explained that Linh is getting singing lessons at the same time – what a great idea!!!
Linh was very shy. We stayed a little while and then Minh An played a song on the keyboard and Linh sang. Just wonderful.
Later on we went upstairs again to play with the children. Hoan was there too, she tried to prepare herself. She had an exam the next day … very important. We had a good chin wag, took more pictures … with little Thuong.
He was very shy at first, but now he is fine. I picked him up in his room and carried him to the “scene” – that’s where the girls are … and the computer.
Cartoons were on TV … everyone was watching. We left so Hoan could concentrate on the task at hand. Took a taxi to the Tax Department store to pick up a shirt. Matt saw some nice silk shirts … and bought two. Very nice … 2 for $25. Then we started walking towards home … and walked all the way.
All in all a good day – Good day sunshine …
